Screen to GIF 是一款免費的螢幕錄影工具，免安裝，支援包括繁體中文在內的多國語系。它可錄製全螢幕或螢幕上選定的區域並存成 GIF (循環) 動畫檔。在錄影過程中，您可隨意移動錄製框，讓程式錄下您所需要的區域，亦可隨時調整錄製框的大小。此外，在錄影時，您可繼續進行您的工作，因為它的背景是透明的，只顯示邊緣和控制按鈕。
這款軟體還可讓您隨時暫停錄影，然後再繼續錄影或停止錄影。程式並提供熱鍵 F 來執行這些功能，預設為按下 F7 鍵為暫停、再按 F7為繼續錄影、按 F8 為停止錄影。錄影後您可對動畫進行編輯，包括添加文字、字幕和標題畫格 (frame) 以及加入邊界和進度時間軸。此外，您還可變更畫格延遲時間、裁切、變更大小、匯出畫格及刪除不想要的畫格，抑或對選定的畫格套用動作或進行過濾，亦可讓您以拖放方式將畫格加到編輯器中。
