Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition 是一款免費的防毒軟體，採用全球最有效的防毒引擎之一，即 ICSA 實驗室認證的病毒掃描引擎。它的主要功能包括病毒掃描與移除 (Virus scanning and removal)、即時防護 (Real-time Shield)、防 Rootkit (Anti-rootkit)、防釣魚 (Anti-phishing)、防詐騙 (Anti-fraud)、主動威脅控制 (Active Threat Control) 及 HTTP 掃描 (HTTP Scanning) 等。
這款防毒軟體安裝結束前必須按「SIGN IN TO BITDEFENDER」登入官網並建立帳號後才能使用。請在註冊畫面輸入姓名、電子郵件和密碼，然後按下「CREATE ACCOUNT」按鈕。註冊的帳號必須確認才能完成註冊程序，請開啟電子郵件，點選「verify now」。
程式安裝完成後，系統工作列會出現一個「B」圖示，點一下圖示即可開啟操作畫面，介面非常簡潔，幾乎不用做任何設定即可使用。若您需要手動掃描檔案或資料夾，可直接將檔案或資料夾拖曳到程式視窗進行掃描。
