Anki 是一款智慧型間隔式學習軟體，屬於開放原始碼的自由軟體，跨平台，支援 Windows、Mac OSX、Linux、Android 和 iOS 等系統 (除 iOS 版本外，其餘都是免費的)，而且還有網頁版和資料庫。它提供間隔式複習法，也就是學習卡片牌組來使學習事物的記憶達到最佳化，讓您無論是學習語言 (如背單字、片語)、背長詩、地名或人名、準備各種考試、甚至練習吉他和弦，都能使記憶達到最大效能，把大部分學過的東西都變成長期記憶。(Anki 為日語「暗記」的發音；「暗記」的意思就是「記憶」)
間隔式複習法是德國心理學家萊特納 (Sebastian Leitner，1919-1989) 所發明，旨在克服人類學習事物後容易遺忘的「先天性缺陷」，希望透過複習的手段讓所有學過的內容越忘越慢，幾次複習下來，就可以達到完全記住的目的。間隔式複習法的實施方式，是以倍數來增加複習的間隔天數，如第一次複習是當天學習的一天之後，第二次複習則是第一次複習的兩天之後，第三次複習則是第二次複習的四天之後，第四次複習則是第三次複習的八天之後，依此類推。
這款免費軟體安裝並啟動後，程式視窗下方有三個按鈕，由左至右分別為「取得共享的牌組」、「建立牌組」及「匯入檔案」。首先來看「取得共享的牌組」和「匯入檔案」，前者可讓您從 Anki 的資料庫下載別人分享的各式各樣牌組，而後者可匯入其他檔案的資料，支援的檔案格式包括 Tab 字元或分號所分隔的文字檔 (如 CSV 檔) 及 XML 檔。
「建立牌組」可讓使用者建立各種牌組，點擊視窗上方的「新增」則可為各個牌組建立數量不一的學習記憶卡片，每張卡片都有正面和背面，譬如說，您可在正面欄位輸入某個英文片語，背面欄位輸入中文解釋，程式會先顯示正面，然後背面。這款軟體可處理超過 10 萬張學習卡片。學習卡片不僅可以輸入文字，還可進行格式編輯，調整顏色，甚至插入聲音、圖片和影片，而且可以自訂學習時間間隔。首次使用這款軟體的人可能需要一些時間來建立自己的牌組和學習卡片，但這是值得的。
